Semua jenis penyu yang ada di perairan laut Indonesia telah DILINDUNGI, berdasarkan UU No. 5 tahun 1990 dan PP No. 7 tahun 1999.Ini berarti perdagangan penyu adalah dilarang baik dalam keadaan hidup atau mati dan bagian-bagiannya.
The Indonesian government has determined that all sea turtle species are endangered and therefore protected by national decree No. 7/1999 and Act No. 5/1990. This decree forbids any sea turtle trade regardless of whether the turtle is dead or alive. This includes the shell and other parts of the sea turtle.
